The backwater valve is a one-way valve that is installed on a building’s lateral sewer. A properly installed and maintained backwater valve will prevent the sewer from backing up and flooding a building.  Manufactured and assembled in the USA by Plastic Oddities, “Friend of the Plumber”.  The cover is secured to body with four bolts and gasket to provide a positive seal.
